NCAA Basketball Betting: Ohio State vs. Penn State

January 25, 2012

Ohio State Hoops

The Penn State Nittany Lions will visit the Value City Arena to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes Wednesday night in a Big 10 conference matchup. The Nittany Lions are struggling to stay above the .500 mark and are currently 10-11. The Buckeyes on the other hand are playing quality ball and have an impressive 17-3 record. The Buckeyes are tied for first place in the conference, while Penn State is dead last.

Tim Frazier who is averaging 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game leads Penn State. He has literally carried the entire mens basketball program at Penn State on his broad shoulders. Ohio State is led by Jared Sullinger who averages 17.1 points per game while pulling down 9.1 rebounds per game.

Penn State has struggled in the road this season and are 0-4-1 ATS in the last five road games they have played. They are also 0-5 SU in their last five road games. Against Ohio State on the road, they have not fared any better. They are 0-5 SU in their last five games playing at Ohio State.

Ohio State has played very well at home this season. The Buckeyes are 5-0 SU in their last five games at home. The total has been OVER in five of the last five games Ohio State has placed against Penn State.

The numbers look even worse for the Nittany Lions in their last ten games head to head with the Buckeyes. Ohio State is 10-0 SU in the last ten games the teams have played against one another. Nevertheless, Penn State is 5-5 ATS in their last ten games against Ohio State. The total has been OVER in 6 of the last 10 games the two teams have played head to head.

Look for the Buckeyes to win SU. The game may even be very lopsided as the Penn State players may have their minds on the recent death of legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.
