Kentucky vs. Auburn : NCAA Basketball Preview and Free Pick

Kentucky Basketball

As number two Kentucky takes on Auburn, you might not think the Wildcats have anything to worry about, but divisional rivalries are always something to consider. With both teams sitting in the SEC, Auburn would like nothing more than to help lower Kentucky’s ranking and give them a defeat in the SEC. The SEC conference games are just starting so it is important to try to get a victory where you can so the Tigers of Auburn will have added incentive.

Kentucky has a strong frontcourt game and will easily be the favorite in the game. Kentucky is 3rd in the league in rebounds . Anthony Davis is shooting over 60%, while averaging 12.7 points and game and is hauling in over 10 rebounds per contests. Doron Lamb is averaging 14.6 points a game and is likely to continue making the big plays.

But, Auburn has played well this year and beginning the SEC calendar will help them to compete. Auburns offense has not contributed this year while the Wildcats  sit at 12th  in the nation and that does not bode well for the Tigers. The game should be dominated both offensively and defensively by the Wildcats, and should end in an easy double digit win for Kentucky.

If Auburn can slow down Kentucky offensively then they may have a change to stay close, but that is not likely. Nothing in Auburn’s defense so far this season has shown yhr ability to contend with this type of scoring powerhouse that Kentucky is. There is always the chance Kentucky will have an off night, but the way the Wildcats have played so consistently all season it is unlikely they will not come to play against divisional rival Auburn.

On the road SU Kentucky has a record of 6-2 in its previous eight games. In all of five of Kentucky’s last five road games the total has been UNDER. Auburn’s record ATS is just 5-11 over its last 16 games against Kentucky.
