NCAA Betting: Wisconson vs. Wisc. Milwaukee Free Pick

College Basketball Free Pick

Jordan Taylor Wisconsin Basketball

The Wisconsin Badgers are on upset alert on Tuesday night, a light night of action in college basketball, when they visit a very good Milwaukee team. The Badgers are 10.5-point college basketball bets favorites on

UWM has won eight of its first 10 games, equaling its 8-2 mark after 10 games in 2002-03. The Panthers were 9-1 in 1992-93. The Panthers dropped a 67-51 decision at Northern Iowa Saturday afternoon, snapping a four-game winning streak. Milwaukee had 15 turnovers and allowed 14 offensive rebounds.

UWM continues to battle injury troubles early in the season. Tony Meier missed the first six games of the season with a calf injury, while Ja’Rob McCallum has missed the last four games with a wrist injury. The Panthers have yet to play a game with their expected starting five.

Wisconsin is visiting the U.S. Cellular Arena for the first time since the 2007-08 season, and UWM is hosting a ranked, non-league foe for the first time since 1997. The Panthers have beaten the Badgers just once in 28 tries and Wisconsin currently has an 18-game winning streak in the series.

Three days after falling 60-57 at No. 5 North Carolina, Wisconsin (8-2) suffered a 61-54 defeat to then-No. 16 Marquette on Dec. 3. The Badgers, though, have outscored teams by an average of 30.3 points in their eight wins. Much of Wisconsin’s success can be attributed to its stellar defensive play. The Badgers rank first in the country with an average of 44.9 points allowed. • The Badgers have held 9 of their 10 opponents to that team’s lowest scoring output of the season, including four opponents that were held at least 22 points below their season average entering the game.

In 11 seasons under Bo Ryan, UW has gone 26-6 against the other three Division I teams in the state of Wisconsin. Ryan’s teams are 10-0 vs. Milwaukee, 10-1 vs. Green Bay and 6-5 vs. Marquette. Ryan served as head coach at Milwaukee for two seasons (2000 and 2001), compiling a record of 30-27 (.526).

Preseason All-American Jordan Taylor notched his second career double-double last Wednesday vs. Green Bay with 15 points and a career-high 10 assists without committing a single turnover. He has 57 assists and 15 TOs on the season, which equals the NCAA’s 6th-highest assist-to-TO ratio (3.8). stats by Wagerweb

SA Free Pick: We think the spread should be a bit higher here than just ten. So we suggest taking the Wisconsin Badgers to win and cover.
